Resurfacing means removing the superficial layers of skin so that a new, healthier, younger-looking skin can form. At Elanic we use the CO2RE laser, one of the world’s most effective lasers.
How Laser Skin Resurfacing Works
CO2 laser surfacing is performed with a local anaesthetic cream and causes sunburn-type symptoms for the first few days, which take two to three weeks to resolve. Our patients typically find the treatment to be surprisingly comfortable. This state-of-the-art device makes thousands of microscopic holes in the skin, resulting in deep collagen formation and impressive skin tightening. CO2 laser resurfacing offers better results when compared to other laser treatments, with reduced downtime.
With CO2RE, you can expect some discomfort during the treatment. We’ll use local anaesthetic and sedation to ensure that you remain as pain-free as possible both during and after the completion of your treatment. Immediately following the procedure, you can expect a sensation similar to sunburn, which may last for several hours. In the days following treatment, you will experience peeling of dead skin from the treatment area. This is a natural exfoliation process and may last seven to 10 days.
