A breast uplift (also sometimes known as a mastopexy) is used to improve the appearance of breasts that droop or sag by restoring them to a more pert and youthful position. Whether you’re interested in reversing the effects of childbirth or would just like to improve the look of your bust, Elanic’s talented plastic surgeons can help.
The Breast Uplift Procedure
Your breast uplift surgery will be carried out under general anaesthetic and will likely involve an overnight stay in one of our private hospital partners. Before your procedure, your surgeon will meet with you and discuss all of the relevant details, helping you to gain an understanding of what you can expect from your results and also what to expect from the procedure itself.
The surgical technique used in your breast lift procedure will be chosen according to your body type and your personal cosmetic goals, and your surgeon will work with you to develop a treatment plan that is tailored according to these unique details. In most cases, a breast lift takes between one and three hours to complete, after which you’ll recover in hospital.
Most breast lift surgeries involve an incision that will guide the reshaping of the breast and allow for a new, more youthful placement of the nipple. The nipple and areola will be moved thusly, and the skin will be tightened and reshaped in a way that uplifts and properly repositions the breast. Sutures will be used to carefully close the incisions.
